Whether you want to just make a placemat or go big and begin to make a rug, this workshop will get you on track by learning the basics. You will learn how to begin the method, preparing and plaiting, keeping consistency and what the best materials are to use for what type of mat/rug you are going to make (placemat, bath mat or bigger rug).Hand sewing and a bit of dexterity with plaiting is required but otherwise is suitable for beginners. Some materials are provided, but it’s a great opportunity to bring your old cloths that are no longer fit for purpose and, instead, put to good use and not into landfill.
What do I bring? Sharp sewing needle, Needle threader if you have one, Sewing Thread (we do have some), Sharp Scissors, Pegs and a good sense of humour for the boo boos!!
