The Lake Mac Wellness Centre Westlakes Carnival is back for 2026 Sunday October 18th 2026 from 8:00am for Walks, followed by main Carnival at 9:00am. This Carnival will include the Top Speed Sports Fitness Westlakes Gift and Thommo's Training Squad Westlakes Mile

Athletes MUST be registered with a State athletics association to take part. NSW Community athletes CAN compete at our community event.

Walk Events

Walk event categories are:

• 9s (700m Walk)
• 10s and 11s (1100m Walk)
• 12s to 14s (1500m Walk)
• 15s+ (1500m Walk)

Ribbons will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each walk category for both Male and Female athletes

Main Carnival

• Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all events (Male and Female)
• A feature event will be randomly drawn with trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd.
• A participation ribbon will be given to all athletes up to and including 10s.

We will have some free races for Tiny Tots. (No need to register)

We will also be including Multi-Class athletes in four categories:

• 8s to 12s Male
• 8s to 12s Female
• 13s+ Male
• 13s+ Female

Multi Class athletes will compete in their own age groups but will receive separate ribbons and trophies.

Able Bodied age groups include 6s to Under 20s as well as Open athletes

CARNIVAL PROGRAM

Please note:

• Multi-Class athletes placings will be allocated via classification (%). (Walks do not include a Multi-Class category)
• Athletes do not need to be classified to compete, but you will need to provide a brief description of the disability so we can apply a nominal classification on the day for the purposes of fairness. (Please note that some disabilities are not able to be classified. Check Classification in World Para Athletics for more information)

Top Speed Sports Fitness Westlakes Gift (8s+ Only)

Get ready for an explosive track finish! The 120m Gift is a handicapped sprint where age and personal bests are leveled, giving every runner a real chance to cross the line first.

A gift race is a running race where slower runners get a head start so that everyone has a fair chance to cross the finish line at the same time. 

• Entry fee: $5 (either standalone or combined with Main Carnival)
• The Format: A handicap 120m sprint on grass—Heats, semi's and Finals as required.
• Divisions:
  • Junior Gift: Ages 8 to 12 (Mixed Male & Female)
  • Senior Gift: Ages 13+ to Open (Mixed Male & Female)
• Prizes:
  • 1st $150
  • 2nd: $75
  • 3rd: $50

Thommo's Training Squad Westlakes Mile (11s+ Only)

Who will take out the inaugral Westlakes Open Mile?

• Entry fee: $5 stand alone OR included FREE in main carnival fee (for 11s+)

Age group winners will also receive ribbons for placing in individual age groups
