About

Navigating appreciation, boundaries and PAS requirements

As a PAS volunteer, the relationships you build with friends and families can be very meaningful. Sometimes, a friend or family member may want to show their appreciation by offering you a gift.

But how do we respond warmly and respectfully, while also maintaining appropriate boundaries and following PAS requirements?

Join us for a practical, supportive and interactive training session exploring how to navigate these situations with confidence and care.

Through facilitated discussion, real-life scenarios and role-play, we will explore:

why people may want to give gifts and how we can acknowledge their generosity
appropriate boundaries when giving or receiving gifts
how to respond when a situation feels sensitive or uncomfortable
practical ways to respectfully accept or decline an offer
PAS and Archdiocesan requirements and what these mean for volunteers.

There will also be opportunities to ask questions and learn from situations that PAS volunteers may encounter in their friendships.
