Early Primary AMC Australian Mathematics Competition Year 1 to 2 AU - Hosted by Rainbow Academy Castle HillThe Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is Australia’s longest running, largest and best known mathematics competition. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students across Australia and around the world participate in this exciting challenge designed to develop mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
The AMC encourages students to challenge themselves through engaging and thought-provoking questions while building confidence and a deeper understanding of mathematics.
From 12 – 23 October, AMC are offering a pilot of the AMC Early Primary paper for Years 1 and 2.
This is only available to schools in Australia and New Zealand.
About the Competition:
25 questions (20 multiple choice and 5 integer-answer)
50 minutes
One sitting per student (multiple sittings are not allowed)
From 2027, the AMC Early Primary division will be part of standard AMC offerings.
What to Bring
• Pencils and eraser
• Their own device (laptop / iPad / tablet) with an internet browser
• Optional: approved calculator

Why Participate?
AMC helps students strengthen critical thinking, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities in a fun and challenging environment. Participants also have the opportunity to receive certificates and awards for outstanding achievement.
