Construct your own impromptu photobooth set using paper, collage + DIY costuming. All materials will be provided, and Ruth will guide participants to create a useful and imaginative resource that can be put to work in countless creative applications.Working across drawing, painted textiles, photography and performance, Ruth deploys her body as both material and subject, documenting experiences typically excluded from institutional memory.
From her connective photo booth series to provocative textile works, Ruth's practice refuses easy categories, creating work that confronts invisible labour, sexuality and the complexity of women’s lives.
She has exhibited in solo exhibitions (Mary Cherry Contemporary, Bus Projects, C3, TCB) and participated widely in group shows (MAPh, RMIT Gallery, ACCA) across Australia.
