ARIA award-winning former George frontman Tyrone Noonan presents a tour de force jazz cabaret experience celebrating the music of Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr. Featuring some of Queensland's finest musicians, this concert honours two of the greatest singers and entertainers of their generation.

From classic swingin’ tunes such as "Fly Me To The Moon" and "It Had To Be You" to late night bar ballads such as "One For My Baby" and the haunting "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", this event is a delight for old and new jazz fans alike.

PALIMPSEST : (Pal—Imp—Sest) ... a parchment, or the like, from which writing has been partially or completely erased to make room for another text...

The jazz project from singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Tyrone Noonan, former frontman of No 1-charting, ARIA award-winning, multi platinum-selling Australian band george... Palimpsest creates a timeless, yet current sound that takes the listener on an entrancing journey across continents, cultures and song writing eras, fusing elements of Swing, Latin, Soul and Folk.

The debut self-titled album’s stompin' cover of Jon Hendricks' “I’ll Bet You Thought I’d Never Find You” was licensed as the lead track on Messin’ Around Vol. 5 (Freestyle Records); while the Pacifica remix was featured on UK DJ Russ Dewbury’s Jazz Rooms (Mr Bongo), and both versions received high rotation in clubs and radio stations across Europe including Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 6 show (Gilles labelled the track “a modern jazz classic”), Russ Dewbury’s Nu Jazz Spectrum and Karsten Johns’ Vinyl Vibes.

Palimpsest has performed at many high profile Australian events including the Federal Budget Dinner at Canberra’s Parliament House Great Hall, numerous national festivals including Woodford and St Kilda Fest, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Ballet galas, the Wynnum Fringe, Brisbane Cabaret and Burlesque , Tanks Arts Centre, plus regular performances at Brisbane Jazz Club, Boom Boom Room, Alligator Club and private events.

Step inside from 6:30 pm. The music begins at 7:30 pm. Venue closes at 11.30pm.

Seating is unreserved and claimed by those who arrive first. The early ones always find the best vantage point.

Food and small plates will be available throughout the evening, and the bar will be flowing with local and international wines, classic cocktails, fine spirits, and a deep collection of bourbons worthy of New Orleans itself.
