Babi Yar 85th Anniversary CommemorationJoin us for a moving evening of music, words and remembrance, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy.
We are thrilled to present an inspiring program featuring:
• Chazzan Brett Kaye - vocalist
• Mark Mogilevski - Violin, former Associate Concertmaster of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
• Elena Mogilevski – Piano
• Elina Faskhi - Cello, Assistant Principal of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
• Alex Pokryshevsky – Bass vocalist
• Anton Manuel Pokryshevsky – Pianist and composer
• Alex Itescu and Isaac Itescu – Violin
• Jeffrey Rosenfeld – Clarinet
• Choirmaster Avraham Yee
• The St Kilda Shule Choir
Alex Pokryshevsky, Alex Itescu, Isaac Itescu and Jeffrey Rosenfeld are also members of the St Kilda Shule Choir.
We are especially thrilled to present the world premiere of Mi-ma’amakim (Psalm 130), composed by Los Angeles-based pianist and composer Anton Manuel Pokryshevsky for tenor and bass voices with piano accompaniment. It will be performed by Chazzan Brett Kaye and Anton’s father, Alex Pokryshevsky, with Anton accompanying on piano.

Dr Simon Holloway is Manager of Community and Corporate Programs at the Melbourne Holocaust Museum and a respected Holocaust educator and Jewish studies scholar.
