Drama in Practice - Antigone
About
This term Year 11/12 Drama in Practice students have been working to create a contemporary production of the classic Greek tragedy, 'Antigone', by Sophocles. This play provides an insight into the ripple effect of one person's choices on everyone they love and the incongruity between what is right and what is law.In true Greek tragedy style, this play contains three suicides which are conveyed indirectly and theatrically. It also contains references to mature subject matter (the story of Oedipus) and as such is suitable for people in high school and up.
