Author In Conversation: Lisa Marino
About
1950s Western Australia. A lost relic. A buried past. One discovery on the remote Abrolhos Islands that changes everything. Join us at the Claremont Library with local author Lisa Marino.Lisa will be discussing her new historical fiction debut novel “The Shearwater’s Song”, followed by a Q&A about her writing.
After spending nearly twenty years living in the United States, Lisa Marino returned home to Perth, Western Australia (WA).
Here in Perth, she spent nearly two decades as a locally engaged public diplomacy professional, managing impactful U.S. Government outreach programs, culminating as Cultural Affairs Director. Her background also includes collaborating on education and employment programs for Aboriginal youth, serving as a media officer for a WA Senator, and writing freelance features for a local newspaper.
When she's not writing, she enjoys volunteering on community projects and spending time along the WA coastline with her husband, family, and her much-loved dogs.
