Chinese Painting Workshop: The Horse
About
Discover the expressive beauty of Chinese painting in this special hands-on workshop inspired by the horse — a powerful symbol of energy, freedom and vitality in Chinese art and culture.Led by two acclaimed Chinese-Australian artists Meiyu Xiao(蕭美玉 ) and Chunrui Yang (楊春瑞), this workshop invites participants to explore traditional Chinese brush and ink techniques while developing their own interpretation of the horse through line, movement and form.
Whether you are completely new to Chinese painting or already have some artistic experience, you will be guided step by step through the creative process in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Along the way, hear from the artists about their creative practices, cultural influences and experiences as Chinese migrant artists in Australia.
Come and enjoy an afternoon of ink, brushwork, creativity and cultural exchange — and take home your own Chinese ink painting of a horse.
