Monash Council is pleased to invite you to a FREE interactive workshop delivered by Martine McKee from Safe Minds First Aid. This session designed to help community members feel more confident recognising when someone may be struggling, knowing how to start a supportive conversation, and understanding where to seek help.
Participants will:
- Build a better understanding of common mental health challenges.
- Learn to recognise signs that someone may need support.
- Develop confidence to start a caring conversation.
- Explore practical ways to support someone while maintaining healthy boundaries.
- Learn about appropriate support services and referral pathways.
- Leave with simple, practical strategies they can use in everyday life
This introductory session is suitable for volunteers and community members. (Please note you must be 18 years or older to attend.)

About the facilitator Martine McKee, Safe Minds First Aid
Licensed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor, with an extensive facilitation background and a focus on trauma-informed pedagogy I have considerable experience with post-natal depression, psychosis, anxiety, eating disorders, NSSI and substance use disorders. Significant lived experience drives my passion for delivering MHFA. I strive to educate, reduce stigma and increase understanding and empathy
