Set the Standard Anti-Racism Workshop

For clubs affiliated with AFL Victoria, Cricket Victoria, Football Victoria, Basketball Victoria, NRL Victoria, Tennis Victoria and Netball Victoria.

The workshop forms part of Set The Standard - a statewide initiative supporting community sport to prevent and address racism by providing practical tools, resources and education for clubs. The campaign aims to help clubs build welcoming, inclusive and culturally safe environments where everyone feels respected, valued and able to participate. If you'd like to learn more about the initiative and explore the range of free resources available, you can visit the Set The Standard Website.

This workshop isn't about expecting clubs to have all the answers. It's about providing practical support to help club leaders build confidence, start positive conversations, and strengthen an inclusive club culture over time.
Delivered by Reflect Forward, this interactive 60-90-minute workshop is designed specifically for community sporting clubs and is ideal for:
  • Committee members and club executives
  • Coaches and team managers
  • Club volunteers and other emerging leaders

During the workshop, participants will:
  • Better understand racism and its impact in community sport.
  • Build confidence to respond appropriately if racism occurs.
  • Identify practical actions that help create a more welcoming and culturally safe club
  • environment.
  • Access practical tools and resources that can be implemented within your club.

Whether your club is just beginning this journey or already has inclusion initiatives in place, the workshop provides practical ideas, resources and support that can help your club continue to create a positive experience for all participants.
