Jazz Night – Mikaela Nichols Live on Friday 2 October
The first Friday of the month is almost here, and we would be delighted to welcome you back to The Timeless Way for another special Jazz Night. On Friday, 2 October 2026, Mikaela Nichols and the Steve Mannering Quartet will fill the café with an exciting evening of live music, delicious food and the warm atmosphere our Jazz Night guests know and love.
This performance will take you on a musical journey from the golden age of swing right through to the sounds of the 21st century. Whether you love the elegance and rhythm of classic swing, the freedom and colour of jazz, or simply enjoy hearing great songs brought to life by accomplished musicians, this is an evening designed to be enjoyed from beginning to end.
At the heart of the group is vocalist Mikaela Nichols, whose voice will lead the audience through a wide-ranging program of memorable music. She will be joined by Scot Cashion on saxophones, adding the unmistakable warmth, energy and expressive sound of live jazz; Mark Brothers on bass guitar, providing the groove and musical foundation; and Paul Smith on drums, driving the rhythm and keeping the night moving.
On keyboard is Steve Mannering, who is also the music arranger for the evening. His arrangements bring the ensemble together and give each song its own shape, colour and character. With five performers combining vocals, saxophones, keyboard, bass guitar and drums, guests can look forward to a full and vibrant live sound in the intimate setting of The Timeless Way.

Our Jazz Nights are about more than the performance alone. They are a chance to slow down at the end of the week, share dinner with family or friends, enjoy a drink, and experience live music up close. The Timeless Way offers a relaxed and welcoming environment where you can settle in for the evening and enjoy every note.
Doors will open between 6:15 pm and 6:30 pm, allowing everyone time to arrive, find their table and get comfortable. Dinner orders will be taken from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm before the first set begins.
Evening schedule
Doors open: 6:15–6:30 pm
Dinner orders taken: 6:30–7:00 pm
First set: 7:00–8:00 pm
Intermission: 8:00–8:30 pm
Second set: 8:30–9:30 pm
Tickets are $20 per person and bookings are now open. As seating is limited, we recommend booking early if you would like to attend, particularly if you are planning to come with a group and would like to sit together.
