From Handel to HollywoodTimeless Baroque music from the silver screen, brought to life in superb performances by Arioso Chamber Ensemble.
Timeless Baroque music which features in film scores, including “Master and Commander”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “The English Patient”, “Farinelli”, The Favourite and Batman! Baroque music captures every mood and has been used to great effect in many memorable screen moments, from the elegance of Henry Purcell’s melodies heard in the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack, to the swaggering strumming of Boccherini’s “La Musica Notturna” in Master and Commander.
Arioso Chamber Ensemble brings together the talents and experience of leading specialists in Baroque performance. Aiming to present high quality Historically Informed engaging performances, they regularly perform in festivals and concerts from Maryborough to Armidale. Arioso artists:Tobias Merz (Counter-tenor) Margaret Caley and Jacqueline Webber (baroque violin), Janet Brewer (harpsichord) and Shannon Scheltema (viola da gamba), have a passion for bringing baroque music to a wider audience through their performances.
