Discover the timeless elegance of Chinese aesthetic traditions in this special seasonal tea gathering inspired by the arrival of spring — a time of renewal, warmth, and fresh beginnings in Chinese art and culture.Hosted at the museum, this immersive experience invites you to savor the harmonious blending of tea tasting, traditional flower arrangement, and antique vessel appreciation, bringing together three of China's most refined cultural pursuits in one intimate afternoon.
You will journey through a curated selection of regional teas prepared in sequence using traditional methods, while exploring the rich history of tea production, ancient brewing techniques, and historic teaware.
Along the way, enjoy rare, hands-on access to authentic antique vessels used in both the tea service and floral displays — offering a unique opportunity to touch, hold, and appreciate objects usually encountered only behind museum glass.
Come and enjoy an afternoon of sensory delight, history, and cultural discovery — and experience the art of Chinese tea culture brought vividly to life.
The Programme
The gathering begins with a short meditation, followed by three tea sessions. You will taste Fuding White Tea and other teas while learning about their origins, flavours and preparation methods, as well as the antique vessels used to serve them.
The programme also includes a Chinese flower arrangement demonstration, featuring traditional flower vessels and opportunities for guests to take part. In the final session, tea will be prepared by boiling, offering a chance to explore how different methods shape the tea’s flavour.
At last, the programme will conclude with refreshments and an informal sharing of favourite teas, vessels and moments from the experience.
