About
JCS ALUMNI PROGRAM

Who We are
The Alumni group is a space for students and their friends to continue to be nourished with the values, wisdom and good company they have received at John Colet. We consider some of the deeper questions of life together, and practice skills in inner resilience, confidence and kindness.
We meet at least once each school term. We often gather at John Colet on a Sunday morning, and sometimes venture further afield with a retreat each year at Mt Wilson. Past highlights include Easter Service at John Colet School and Shakespeare Workshops with Ms Lilla.
For those children considering Duke of Edinburgh from age 14, the Alumni program is a fantastic gateway offering many volunteering opportunities for students:
- to provide service to a not for profit organisation (weekly gardening at Mahratta),
- cleaning and service (Elizabeth St building),
- study days (5 days supervised studying at Elizabeth St or Mahratta) **,
- residential activity (5 days away from home at Mt Wilson) **,
- and expedition (possible Adventure journey planned around Mt Wilson region) **.
** addtional fees required to cover costs for facilitators and supervisers.
OUR TEAM
James Donald is an Alumni of John Colet School and is now a member of the School Board. He teaches Leadership at Sydney Business School.
Gauri Donald is a senior member of the School of Practical Philosophy and an amazing nutritionist and she brings along with her a wealth of knowledge in philosophy and food culture.
Glen Miller and Libby Levay are both well known and loved teachers at John Colet School, needing no introduction! They have both been part of the School of Philosophy for many years.
Parents are welcome to help support the program: for instance, coming along to assist on Retreat weekends. Admin support and email communications are currently organised by Lillian Cheung, an Alumni parent.
