Greek Language Seminar by Dr Alexandra Theodoropoulou
About
The Greek alphabet transformed knowledge by making it easier to record, share and teach. Yet from antiquity, philosophers such as Socrates questioned whether access to information necessarily leads to true understanding.Drawing on the myth of Hermes and Thoth, this seminar explores the relationship between writing, knowledge and wisdom — and asks how these ancient questions resonate in the age of artificial intelligence. If technology gives us greater access to knowledge, does it also make us wiser?
