Duxie Franklin (Single Release)
Duxie Franklin is a Melbourne-based alt-pop singer-songwriter celebrating her newest single release with a big night of music at George Lane. She has been hailed as “one of Australia’s most unique and exciting emerging acts” (Happy Magazine Blog), with melodies often compared to Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush and Björk. Her ethereal voice was described by Tiana Speter (The Soundcheck) as “a voice that melts quicker than an ice cream on a summer’s day”.
Her new single, ‘I Feel You’, is a leap forward for Duxie into deeper, more vulnerable territory. Produced by talented US-based producer, Patrick Ament (over 80 million streams for his work with indie-pop artist Chloe Ament), ‘I Feel You’ embraces a lush, atmospheric mood that perfectly captures the complex feelings of forbidden desire.
As a cross-disciplinary artist, Duxie’s creativity extends far beyond song-writing and music production. Duxie is passionate about her self-directed music videos (including ‘Chlorine’, shot entirely underwater in a backyard swimming pool), visual arts and the design and construction of her own stage costumes. Duxie’s custom hand-made merch will be on display and for sale on the night.
Her enchanting live performances are marked by warmth, theatrical flair, and animated banter with her beloved bandmates, Duxie’s Long Lost Texan Uncles.
Duxie and her band will be supported by beach jazz pop-rockers, Punchbowl. This quirky 4-piece act are beloved for their impressive harmonies, catchy melodies and kooky antics.
