Bennie, Duffield & Phillips (Album Launch) - GL Mat. Sess.
Monday/Tuesday is a soon to be released album on Eternal
Music Projects, which brings together three of Australia's most
influential musicians - Glenn Bennie Underground Lovers,
Andrew Duffield Models and John Phillips Not Drowning,
Waving.
Monday/Tuesday moves effortlessly between hypnotic
melodies, drifting electronics, shimmering guitars and
improvisational interplay, drawing on traditions of ambient
music and progressive rock.
Each musician brings a distinctive voice to the
collaboration. Underground Lovers co-founder, Glenn Bennie
contributes some of his recognisable droning guitar melodies
and textures. Andrew Duffield, best known as pioneering
keyboard player and sonic architect with Models and
Whirlywirld, provides a celebrated adventurous approach to
synthesiser and piano experimentation on the album. John
Phillips, a founding member of the acclaimed ensemble Not
Drowning, Waving, adds his deep understanding of guitar
atmospheres and cinematic composition, forged through an
extraordinary body of work spanning film scores and crosscultural
collaborations.
Rather than showcasing individual virtuosity, Monday/
Tuesday thrives on collective instinct. Part ambient journey,
part progressive exploration. It is music that rewards close
listening and complete immersion.
The album will be launched at George Lane in St Kilda on
Saturday afternoon, October 24 @ 2:30pm.
Special guests will be The Same Same - Lisa Gibbs and
Philippa Nihill, playing tracks from their Eno covers EP, Before
and After Eno.
