Join Friend Notebooks and The Wandering Cellar Door at Polola for a long lunch in support of former North Queensland Cowboy Ray Thompson and his Breaking Point Challenge.

On 17 October, Ray is taking on the challenge to raise funds to help find a cure for childhood brain cancer. Before he does, we’re getting together around the table for an afternoon of food, wine, friendship and fundraising.

THE LUNCH

We’re heading to Polola, tucked into the atmospheric surrounds of City Lane, for a relaxed Iberian-inspired wine feast.

Three feasting courses, Spanish and Portuguese wines, plenty of conversation and no particular need to rush anywhere.

Includes the three-course feast, Cava, Albariño and Tempranillo, your Taste Friend tasting journal and the guided wine experience.

$20 from every ticket goes directly to the Breaking Point Challenge, with further opportunities on the day to raise funds while winning signed North Queensland Cowboys merchandise and exclusive wine packs.

Dietary requirements must be advised at the time of booking.

WHY WE’RE GETTING TOGETHER

Ray Thompson is a former North Queensland Cowboy and a champion of his community. The Breaking Point Challenge is about pushing beyond what feels comfortable to raise money and awareness for childhood brain cancer research.

We wanted to do our bit in the way we know best:

Bring people together around a table.

Eat something good. Open some interesting bottles. Meet someone new. Stay a little longer than you planned.

And while we’re doing it, put some money behind Ray and an incredibly important cause.
