About
Ruby Cheyne is an Australian classical guitarist at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. A 2025 graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Ruby completed an intensive, performance-focused music program and served as Music Captain during her final year.She is drawn to repertoire that explores the expressive, textural, and contemporary possibilities of the classical guitar, and is developing a distinctive artistic voice through her engagement with Australian and contemporary music.
Her achievements include First Prize at the Altamira Guitar Festival Competition at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2025, as well as First Prize at the Melbourne Guitar Festival Competition in 2019. Ruby has also performed numerous times as a live-to-air artist on 3MBS, gaining valuable experience performing for a broadcast audience.
Doors open for refreshments 11.45 am. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided - BYO sandwiches
