Family members, carers, and friends play an important role in supporting a person experiencing addiction but can face challenges of their own.

In partnership with Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) we are running a free community harm prevention session for those supporting someone affected by addiction or substance misuse.

Participants will learn ways to:

- Support their own wellbeing

- Communicate effectively

- Set healthy boundaries

- Respond to challenging situations

- Connect with others who share similar experiences.

The session supports Council's commitment to preventing harm associated with alcohol, gambling and other harmful industries, by building understanding, reducing isolation and increasing awareness of available support services.

Registration is essential. 18+ years. Light refreshments will be provided.
