Rocketing Girls Into Robotics!

Project Bucephalus is proud to present 'Rocketing Girls Into Robotics': an after-school robotics workshop for female students of the Illawarra!
Since 2011, Project Bucephalus has run workshops designed to encourage children’s interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). 'Rocketing Girls Into Robotics' is an extension of this teaching program, supported in the past by:
- The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources
- The Rotary Club of Corrimal
- FIRST Equity and Access Grant
- Propel Technologies - a local firm supporting local kids!
From 2026 the class will no longer be sponsored and all places will need to pay the class fee. The class will remain a girls only class for students aged 8-16.
The Project Bucephalus robotics teams have been running classes for adults and children since 2011. We offer an exciting program that builds interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in unique ways, with many former students moving on to become mentors themselves!
Project Bucephalus team members and coaches teach their students how to design, build, and program their own robots. The team will pass on their skills in teamwork, lateral thinking, and having FUN!
The curriculum contains lessons and games designed to develop robotics, engineering, and programming skills. Catering to both beginner and advanced students, activities are mixed between single-week challenges and multi-week projects. The occasional competition is thrown in for good measure (Robot Sumo is a favourite!).
Visit our Learn Robotics page for further details of the workshops.
