Doing Documentation Better

Doing Documentation Better

hero

The successful delivery of a building is a constant challenge in architectural practice and one intrinsically linked to the quality the building’s design documentation, regardless of its scale. Preparing quality documentation is demanding, constantly subject to the pressures of time and cost despite the risks in play. With many recent high profile building failures, there has never been a time when the quality of building design documentation has received more attention. With new Legislation in NSW, and other states soon to follow, the pressures on the quality of design documentation are only likely to increase. To learn about making documentation better for your practice, join the ACA at 1pm AEDT, Wednesday 11 November.

In this webinar, Alex Chistiakoff will cover aspects of the projected implications of the new Legislation and explain why it is essential to implement quality control measures in documentation. Drawing from his extensive experience in documentation coordination services he will discuss how to prepare architectural documentation, better equipping architects for the proposed changes and to deliver a higher quality of documentation.

Alex’s presentation will utilise examples, explaining methods to ensure that all components in the documentation (Drawings + Schedules + the Specification) work well with each other.

Content covered will include:

  • An introduction and overview of documentation
  • Alex's observations as a consultant
  • Establishment of procedures
  • Coordination of components
  • Managing work
  • Documents for CC stage
  • Tender documents and Contracts
  • Design and Construct documentation
  • Construction Stage
