The Angry Penguins - ADFAS Perth
After the Depression and WWII Australian Artists rebelled against the establishment because they wanted to be expressive of their feelings, beliefs and attitudes to the world around them especially here in their own environment. Lecturer Carl Altmann will look at work by Arthur Boyd, Sir Sydney Nolan, Albert Tucker, John Perceval and Joy Hester who were part of a group that became known as the Angry Penguins.
