A TWO DAY WORKSHOP JUNE 19 & 20 WITH ALADDIN JONES (M.ed CHT ACA reg. AABAT reg. Hakomi / Psychotherapy / Clinical Supervision / Ecotherapy / Couples Therapy / Family Therapy)
INTRODUCTION
Increasingly, there is recognition that something is missing if we do not include a somatic body-based connection in therapy. The body is a powerful storehouse of unconscious wisdom.Through the practice of presencing and tracking, we are able to increase mindful awareness. These approaches and skills allow for emergent possibilities, more freedom, and a sense of coming home to who we really are. Hakomi has been at the forefront of integrating somatic and mindfulness in therapy for over 30 years.
This 2-day workshop offers the opportunity to experience the Hakomi Mindful Somatic method of psychotherapy. This collaborative approach offers a more direct dialogue with the 'hidden conversations' and information inherent within our own bodies.
The Hakomi approach supports a deepening of practice and provides immediately accessible therapeutic skills that are practical, experiential, embodied and compassionate.
Aladdin Jones is a certified Mindful Somatic Hakomi Therapist & Teacher (Perth, Melbourne and NZ) with practices in Melbourne (Clifton Hill area), Warburton (Yarra Valley) & Online. Aladdin has a love of supporting individuals, couples, young people & families in a systemic, client-centred, trauma informed & somatic approach. He offers in person, online and outdoor ‘ecotherapy’. He has extensive experience in family therapy, family violence dynamics, men’s work, historical & developmental traumas (women & men) with over 15 years experience in community, organizational & private settings. Aladdin has a 20 year interest & practice of Zen mindfulness, holds postgraduate qualifications in Buddhist Psychotherapy, Ecopsychology & Family/Systemic Therapy and has completed clinical supervision training.
