FAQs
Are meals provided? This is not a catered event, so meals and snacks are not provided. Due to the public holiday, eating options in the city will be more limited than usual, so you may wish to bring your own packed meals.
Can I register on the day?To help us allocate parts and manage capacity restrictions, all participants are required to register online by Sunday 13th June 2021. Subject to availability, recital tickets may still be purchased online up until the start of the session. However, to avoid disappointment, we strongly encourage you to book in advance.
If I attend some or all of the class sessions, are you able to provide a professional development certificate?Yes, we are happy to provide electronic proof of attendance certificates upon request after the event. Please email us directly at ahj.secretary@gmail.com after the conclusion of the event to request one under your name.
Do I need to supervise my child during breaks? When do I need to pick up my child, and can I pick them up early?
This process has been streamlined since 2019. Unless special arrangements are made with us, your child will remain under our supervision and care on campus for the duration of the event for which they are registered. So, if you have purchased a Full Pass or Class Pass, you can pick up your child at 8.00pm at the conclusion of the recital. If you have purchased a Junior Pass, we ask that you are available to pick up your child at 1.45pm. (We would also encourage you to come and hear them perform in the participant concert at 1.00pm, which is free to attend.) You can contact us directly in writing (ahj.secretary@gmail.com) to make arrangements for picking them up earlier, or for a portion of the day, if you wish. Further information is provided in our Child Safety Policy.
Can my child leave the campus at break times?
If your child is 13 or under, they will not be permitted off-site during breaks, and we therefore ask that meals and snacks are packed for them, or that you sign them out personally during break times. If your child is 14 or over, we will allow them off-site at break times without supervision provided that they inform our staff that they are doing so (and check in again on return), and that we have a personal contact number for them. However, please note that we will not be responsible for the safety of your child during those times. During registration, you will be invited to nominate your supervision preferences for children aged 14 and over. Further information is provided in our Child Safety Policy.
How do I apply to play in the masterclass?
There will be four to five places available for participants to play the masterclass. Invitations to apply will be distributed shortly. We will be prioritising the representation of a variety of ages and abilities on a first-come basis.
What is your cancellation policy?Ticket holders are entitled to a full refund (excluding the 50c TryBooking fee) if they wish to withdraw from the event up until Monday 7th June. Following this time, no refunds will be available to those who choose to withdraw, except due to illness, injury or other extenuating circumstances. In the event that Adelaide Horn Day 2021 is postponed or cancelled for any reason, including due to government measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, all ticket holders will be entitled to a full refund (excluding the 50c TryBooking fee). For all cancellations and refunds, please contact ahj.secretary@gmail.com.
