The Presenters
Your facilitators Kate Washington and Emily Gray have a wealth of experience to share.
Kate is a passionate organic gardener, sharing her love of growing as the Kitchen Garden teacher at Woodend Primary School. She is certain that once a child grows and eats their own food, they have taken an important first step in making better choices for our collective future. Kate comes with experience growing and selling veggies at the Willunga Farmers Market and a University background in agricultural education and environmental development. She is certain that growing organic food and spending time in nature can change the world of any child and family. Especially when they do it together.
Emily is a school garden and sustainability educator who has been gardening since she was in Year 5. “I had a little veggie plot in my primary school with a few friends. I lived on a big block with lots of tropical fruit trees and chickens,” she recalls. Currently, Emily works as a School Garden&Sustainability Educator at Craiburn Primary School and at a market gardener at Village Greens of Willunga Creek.
