Join the ACA and our expert speakers for an introduction into the complexities of Cost Planning and Negotiation and the crucial role these sometimes overlooked skills can play for the success of your practice. Originally held 21 October 2021.
Cost planning linked to cost negotiating are key skills in the architectural armoury. It is through cost planning and negotiation that client budget expectations are met. But more importantly, cost planning negotiations are central to managing design and construction risks and achieving outcomes. Understanding this area is critical for architects at all scales, levels and experience of practice. Given that projects, form the smallest to largest, are increasingly more complex and specialised it is often difficult for practitioners to best manage project costs. Using case studies the webinar will be an ‘in discussion with’ between academic Dr. Peter Raisbeck and architect Peter Finn to provide direction in the methods, tactics and strategies involved in the process of cost planning and bring this to the attention of the profession.
In this introduction to this large topic: The two Peter’s will bring important insights and their characteristic dry humour to this important topic.
