The Rotary Clubs of Monash & Mount Waverley invite you to the belated 2022 International Women's Business Breakfast; a morning of insightful presentations, networking opportunities, door prizes and a delectable breakfast.
This year's international theme is: ‘#BreakTheBias.’ – a call-to-action to individually and collectively forge a world that is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, a world that is instead diverse, equitable and inclusive where differences are valued and celebrated.
This year the Rotary Clubs of Monash and Mount Waverley will be focusing their breakfast on providing practicable tips and tools on how we can break gender biases with respect to leadership roles, in the sport industry and with respect to healthcare through real life examples.
Through your attendance you will help us raise funds for the new crises accommodation in the City of Monash by Kara Family Violence Service.
Attendees will be provided with a hot plated breakfast and the following:
- fresh fruit juices
- freshly brewed coffee and tea
- seasonal fruits
- selection of spreads
- pastries
Attendees will also be provided with a purple ribbon, notepad and a pen.
Speakers
Peta Searle OAM. Peta became the first female coach in the Australian Football League when she was appointed the developmental coach for the St Kilda Football Club. She was also the first female coach in the Victorian Football League when appointed a coach for the Port Melbourne Football Club. Peta has also been a Head Coach for the Western Bulldogs Women's team. Peta was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2017 and received an Order of Australia in 2019 for her services to the AFL.
Dr Tamara Kwarteng. Tamara is an Independent Consultant with respect to public health programs and the current Chairperson for the Multicultural Centre for Women's Health. Over the last 30 years, Tamara has developed extensive experience and expertise in designing, implementing and evaluating public health programs that address health inequity. Her experience includes being a former Deputy Director of the Centre for International Health at the Burnet Institute for Medical Research and Public Health, She was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2020.
Dr Angela Spinney (Charity Representative). Angela is a Board member of Kara Family Violence Service. Angela is also a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow at Swinburne University and is considered a leading authority in Australia on the concepts, policy and practice implications of homelessness prevention for women and children who have experiences family violence.
Danielle Cain (MC). Danielle the Marketing and Events Manager for Acre Farm and Eatery, Burwood. Danielle has worked for over a decade in event management for major corporate and sporting events and more lately also undertaken marketing roles. She has acted as MC for all our International Women's Day Business Breakfasts.
Charity
All profits will be dedicated to the new secure crises accommodation site in the City of Monash by Kara Family Violence Service, a non-for-profit specialist family violence service providing safe and secure accommodation and outreach services for women and children escaping family violence.
