In this practical workshop series, participants will learn about a range of different Instagram features which can help increase reach, engagement and conversion.
Each session will focus in-depth on a popular Instagram feature, and give participants time to practice using the feature on their own devices, as well as time to plan how that feature may help them achieve their business goals.
Session 1: Tagging vs. Hashtags

This session will break down the difference between tagging and hashtags. ‘Tagging’ is a great way to cross-promote and collaborate with other businesses on Instagram. ‘Hashtags’ help you build your brand’s profile within a specific niche. Both help new people find you.
In this session, participants will learn the difference between tagging and hashtags, and practice tagging other accounts in Instagram posts, as well as how to curate the right hashtags for different posts.
Session 2: Instagram Reels

Instagram wants Reels to become ‘the next big thing.’ The Reels feature offers a lot of potential to help increase reach and engagement, as well as communicate what you offer to increase sales. But if you don’t have a plan, or you aren’t familiar with all the Reels features… they can be challenging (and time consuming) to create!
In this session, participants will be walked through step-by-step how to create Reels with different types of features, including video, music, text and interactive stickers. Participants will also learn how to save Reels as ‘drafts’, how to add captions and where they can share their Reels on Instagram.
Finally, participants will be given some ideas for what Reels to create that will align with their business goals!
Session 3: Instagram Stories
Thursday 20 October, 8 - 9.30am
Instagram Stories offer so much potential for reach and engagement… and they are fun!
In this session, participants will be walked through step-by-step how to create Stories with different types of features, including photos, video, text, stickers, GIFs, tagging and links. Participants will also learn how to create Stories Highlights on their profiles (where Stories can be viewed at any time by potential customers). Participants will learn how they can share other people’s Stories.
Finally, participants will be given some ideas for what content they can create for Stories that will align with their business goals!
