ON DEMAND - Animal Assisted Therapy
Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) has become more accessible in recent years, but what exactly is it? There are a range of different applications including therapeutic, emotional support and hippotherapy. This small group training session will cover off the purpose of animal assisted therapy, the evidence base and desired outcomes, funding sources and developing AAT into your own professional practice. This is a great session for anyone interested in exploring AAT for the benefit of their clients.
This session outlines what Animal-Assisted Therapy is, how to get animals included in your practice, how to link clients in with appropriate animal-assisted therapy interventions, how to get animal-assisted therapy funded AND this session will provide guidance on how to run sessions which incorporate animals into practice.
This session specifically focuses on the use of therapy dogs and equine therapy. This talk is run by Tilly from Cornwall House OT, which runs a successful Dog and Horse Therapy program.
