A Taste of Hospitality at PICAL and Wild Food Farm
Getting your start in the hospitality industry is made simple with this introductory course in a real situation at Wild Food Farm. From farm paddock to restaurant plate, showcasing the potential of Australia’s amazing variety herbs, spices, fruits, and berries, you’ll learn at one of Victoria’s most unique hospitality venues with a distinctive native food influence.
This course provides detailed training in a range of hospitality operational skills including basic back-of-house food preparation, to front-of-house waiting and beverage service. You will learn what it takes to work in hospitality businesses including cafes, restaurants, and catering operations.
Course structure:
- Work effectively with others
- Obtain the online Food Handling and Safety Certificate Level 1
- Obtain the online Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Use hygienic practices for food safety and participate in safe working practices
- Prepare and present simple dishes and beverages and participate in the responsible service of alcohol
- Maintain the quality of perishable items
- Take customer dinner orders and provide wait services to tables
- Show social and cultural sensitivity
- Interact with customers
- Provide service to customers
- Use hospitality skills effectively
