Set in I899 and performed inside the magnificent Werribee Park Mansion, don’t miss THE DRESS, the newest production by Essence Theatre.Mrs Hannah Bryden, a widow, enjoys nothing save for the occasional company of her dressmaker, the flamboyant Mr Bertin. But when massive advances in the fashion industry jeopardise Bertin’s livelihood, he hatches a plan to save both of them from obscurity.
Hannah must launch herself once more as one of Melbourne’s leading socialites at an upcoming masquerade ball in the most jaw-dropping fashion statement Bertin has ever created. Two unlikely allies race to regain their spark of life. A charming two-hander that will appeal to all the family (11+ recommended), performed by Alaine Beek as Hannah and Scott Jackson or Scott Middleton as Mr Bertin.
Tickets include a glass of bubbly upon conclusion of the show while the actors interact with the audience.
