Childbirth and Parenting Classes at Northern Health
About
Northern Health’s Childbirth and Parenting Education Program is provided for all pregnant women, and their partners or support persons, who are booked to give birth at the Northern Hospital. The classes provide information and advice on topics including:- Healthy pregnancy advice
- What to expect during labour, birth and beyond
- Active Labour and Birth Principles
- Tour of maternity services
- Breastfeeding tips for success
- First few days after birth and Caring for your new baby/babies at home
- Safety issues and community support services
- Transition to parenthood
- Maintaining healthy & respectful relationships with your new family
Attendance options:
Option One
- Two consecutive Tuesday evening sessions: 6:00pm – 9:00pm ($60 per family)
Option Two
- One full day Sunday session: 10am – 4.30pm ($80 per family)
Only one ticket per family is required
