Celebration of Winds & Voices St Johns Halifax
About
In an unusual pairing of massed winds and voices the Romantics include Bruckner's famous Te Deum and Dvorak's enchanting Serenade for Winds and the Moderns provide Stravinisky's rarely performed Mass with wind-only accompaniment, the only work he wrote without commission and the short and strange but sweet Symphonies of Wind Instruments, also by Stravinsky. Conductors Bryan Griffiths, Kim Worley and Brian Chatterton lead the Heysen Singers and the Summer Festival Symphonic Winds in wonderful sonorities and sparkling ensemble virtuosity. Distinguished artists, Judith Henley [soprano], Elizabeth Campbell [Mezzo], James Nicholson [Tenor] and Pelham Andrews [Baritone] will sing the solo roles in the Bruckner Te Deum.Location
