Mont Albert Station has recently celebrated 132 years of age. Next year this heritage building will be dismantled, stored and reinstated as a community building at the completion of the level crossing removal project.

Together with Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Progress Association, Mont Albert and Surrey Hills Rotary Club and Bread Street Mont Albert we have chartered a Steam Train to run shuttles from Mont Albert Station on Sunday 23rd October 2022.

TIMETABLE

3 x return shuttles will depart Mont Albert at 10.05am, 11:11am and 2:31pm. These will operate via Blackburn and Burnley and return. Passengers will not be able to join/leave the train at Blackburn or Burnley.

One way transfer trips will depart at the following times -
Transfer 1: Newport (9:01am): Flinders Street (9:29am)(PLATFORM 10) to Mont Albert arriving at 9.55am.
Transfer 2: Mont Albert (12.11pm) to Ringwood arriving at 12:27pm
Transfer 3: Ringwood (1:30pm) to Mont Albert (1.45pm) then via Burnley to Mont Albert arriving at 2:21pm This train can be boarded at Ringwood or Mont Albert - note it is just a quick stop at Mont Albert for those wishing to take the shorter trip.
Transfer 4: Mont Albert (3:31pm) via Burnley to Flinders Street (4:13pm) to Newport arriving 4:41pm
COVID-19 - Masks are no longer required on public transport in Victoria but it is highly recommended in situations where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Movement about the train will be restricted to your allocated seat and on-train services.
Volunteers will ensure high touch areas such as door handles and handrails are cleaned regularly.
BOOKINGS AND REFUNDS
Any passengers who experience any symptoms of COVID-19 prior to or on the day of travel, are not permitted to travel with us. Please contact us by replying to the email sent by with your ticket details sent via TryBooking, to request a full refund of the ticket price at least 12 hours prior to travel *.
In the event that our train is unable to operate due to COVID-19 restrictions, all passengers will be contacted via the email which was provided at the time of your booking. Where an event can be rescheduled, tickets will be automatically transferred to the next available date. If you are unable to make the alternative date, please reply to our email within 7 days and a full refund of the ticket price will be provided.
* NOTE: All COVID-19 related refunds are of the ticket price only, this excludes TryBooking service fees as per their Terms and Conditions.
Where cancellation is made on the day of departure – No refund is allowed.
If on the day of departure through no fault of Steamrail a passenger fails to board the scheduled service this will be treated as a cancellation by the person making the booking and no refund will be provided.
Animals
Guide dogs, hearing dogs, guide or hearing dogs in training and Assistance Animals identified by an Assistance Animal Pass or interstate assistance animal accreditation are the only animals permitted to travel on Steamrail trains.
