PBS presents a very special evening of foundation Jamaican sounds delivered by one of the originators STRANGER COLE direct from Kingston, Jamaica.
Wilburn Theodore Cole cut his first record in 1961 at the just 16 years old and continues to celebrate the sounds and grooves of young Jamaica to this day. His career has spanned ska, rocksteady and reggae as both a singer but as a producer.
More recently Stranger has been honoured by the Jamaican government for his contribution to culture and he was the voice and face of celebrated documentary “Rocksteady: the Roots of Reggae”.
Stranger is still in high demand around the world and has already played Mexico, Spain, Europe and UK in 2022
