Financial Pathways for Small and Medium Practice

The ACA Business of Small Practice (BoSP) forum and Daniel Bolt from Macquarie Bank will present an online session on finance for SME business on Thursday 10 November. Topics discussed will include financing growth, innovative business models, and the availability of funding for the traditional fee-for-service practice model.

The availability of finance for SMEs has been on the decline since the 1990s. Making things worse is the banking sector’s preference to lend against residential property – something that not all small to medium business owners possess.

Since the pandemic, there have been significant improvements in the lending options available to SMEs. Many practices of this scale are adopting innovative business models such as employee ownership or property development, and thereby opening opportunities for financing.

Speakers

Kate Fitzgerald is the Co-Founder of Whispering Smith, a Fremantle-based practice delivering residential and commercial projects, Vice-President of the WA Branch of the ACA and Co-Founder of the BoSP.  

Daniel Bolt brings to the conversation a unique set of skills and experience born of his financial background and 13 years with Macquarie including his role of Business Development WA/SA in Macquarie’s Business Banking team, specifically working within the Technology and Built Environment sectors. Through this role Daniel partners with customers to help support their growth by providing tailored funding and business efficiency solutions to ensure they have the resources available to achieve their aspirations.
