Leadership: How Do I Get Them To Respect Me?

Facilitator: Louise Dorrat
Quality Area 7: Governance and leadership
This session is for all those educators in new positions of leadership – 2IC, PSFO, IP, Room Leader or Coordinator. Leadership is not that easy.
A positive organisational culture is an environment based on professionalism, respect, ethics, trust and openness (NQS 4). This is not easy when you are new in the role, and everyone is so different.
This session will explore different personality types and discuss how to gain respect from educators especially from those who have been at the service for EVER.
- Promote professionalism, confidentiality, respectful and ethical practice.
- How to encourage people to respect you when everyone has different cultures, religions, views, personalities, and experience.
- How to have those difficult conversations without going weak at the knees
