EMBRACE KIDS: is a documentary developed by 2023 Australian of The Year & body image advocate Taryn Brumfitt. It explores the relationship children have with their bodies, why so many boys and girls hate their bodies and what we can do about it.
The film covers topics including social media, photoshopping, 'fitspiration', the influence of media and advertising on body image and role models.
Alarming facts:
· Kids' confidence peaks at age 9 and then drops drastically thereafter
· Social media is changing the way kids value themselves, their lives and their worth
· The age at which children are meeting the criteria for a mental disorder is as young as 4!
