Dr Liz Truswell ‘Marie Stopes - palaeobotanist extraordinaire!’Marie Stopes was one of the most flamboyant and influential figures of the early twentieth century. Liz will discuss Marie’s wide-ranging contributions to palaeobotany, and the way these were over-shadowed by her later career on birth control and the role of women in marriage, published in 1918.
