About
Like you we have been awaiting further details to better understand what the Victorian Government's reopening roadmap means for the hospitality industry.
In line with the roadmap, we are working to create extended outdoor dining opportunities for business in anticipation of predominantly outdoor dining.
We are in the process of launching four streams of outdoor dining extensions:
- New footpath trading
- Extended footpath trading (in front of neighboring properties)
- Roadside dining (in on road car parking spaces)
- Conversion of private property (Private carparks etc) – application coming soon
We have also received proposals for larger activation plans heading into summer from individual businesses and precincts. We're reviewing these as they are received and will formally respond to people once our short term plans are finalised and rolled out.
To help businesses understand these opportunities, we invite you to take part in a webinar with key City of Stonnington staff who will be available to respond to questions and provide advice on support available from all levels of government.
This is an informal drop-in session with the opportunity to ask questions and seek information.
Businesses are encouraged to review the Victorian Government's COVIDSafe Business guidance which includes the Industry Restart Guidelines for Hospitality.
This document provides critical information, guidelines and definitions on outdoor dining. The document outlines density quotient and patron caps for the hospitality industry in regional Victoria. As this point we do not have guidelines for metropolitan Melbourne and can only look to these as a possible guide until an update is released from the Victorian Government.
We also encourage businesses to explore the Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package. Eligible businesses can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 to help your business adapt to outdoor trading.
This session will be held on Zoom. To take part in the session you will need an internet enabled computer, tablet or smartphone. The link to participate will be provided in the confirmation email.
