Fridays at the Historic Old Court House 35 Hay St. while our new Science Centre is being built
Engaging presentations cover various astronomical topics, or take you for a tour of the night sky and our place in the universe with spectacular images of astronomical objects.
Weather permitting, the evening includes a look at an astronomical object through a telescope in the park between Coastal Walk and Police Station.
The presentation goes for about 1 hour and is held regardless of weather.
Weather permitting we should be able to see the Planets, Alpha Centaurus, The Jewel Box, Betelgeuse, Sirus and maybe even a place where new stars are being born!
Bring your binoculars. You will be surprised what you can see without the telescope.
A gift shop has many inexpensive, educational and fun items for purchase.
Sessions open for bookings 1 month before the event. Until then, each Open night is flagged as 'Closed'
