Walk and Talk at Victoria Gardens (City Nature Challenge)
Explore the flora and wildlife of Victoria Gardens on this special walk led by John Hawker from the Friends of Victoria Gardens together with a local Stonnington Parks expert.
This outing is an accessible walk for all abilities along clear, flat walking paths at Victoria Gardens in Prahran.
During the walk, participants will be guided on how to use the iNaturalist app to record observations of plant species or wildlife they see at the gardens to contribute to the 2021 City Nature Challenge (participants can download the app before the event). You can learn more about how to use this app by attending our free online iNaturalist training session on 20 April with ecologist Dr. Luis Mata.
Join the City Nature Challenge
From 30 April to 3 May 2021, Stonnington is joining seven Eastern Melbourne municipalities to compete against hundreds of cities from over 40 countries around the world in the global City Nature Challenge. This walk is part of series of nature walks to help you take part in this exciting citizen science challenge by taking photos of plants, animals, insects or fungi you see, and uploading them to the iNaturalist app. For more information about the challenge, visit our website.
