THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO VICTORIAN COVID RESTRICTIONS.
*If you have already booked a ticket you will be contacted directly in the coming days regarding a refund.*

Mark Brandi, Katherine Kovacic & Kyle Perry will be in-store at Farrells Bookshop at 6.45pm Wednesday 28th July for a panel-based discussion on their path to publication, writing crime versus true crime, and why they (and us as readers) are so fascinated by these darker, grittier parts of life.
Mark Brandi graduated with a criminal justice degree and worked extensively in the justice system, before changing direction and deciding to write. He has written three best-selling novels: Wimmera, which won the Debut Dagger (UK), the Indie Book Award for Debut Fiction, and was shortlisted for numerous prizes; The Rip, which was longlisted for Best Fiction at the Indie Book Awards and the Crime Writer's Association Best Fiction award; and The Others, to be released in July 2021.

Katherine Kovacic is the author of five books. Her true crime novel, The Schoolgirl Strangler, was released in January 2021 and explores the murder of a young girl in the 1930s and the years of bungled investigations, the falsely accused men and the tragic deaths of two more girls, before the murderer was finally caught and brought to justice. Her new crime novel, Just Murdered: Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries, will be released in August 2021 and is based on the niece of Kerry Greenwood's famous Phryne Fisher, as seen on 7plus.

Kyle Perry is a drug and alcohol counsellor based in Hobart, Tasmania. He has grown up around the Tasmanian bush and seas, with the landscape a key feature of his writing and his spare time.
His debut novel, The Bluffs, was shortlisted for the Indie’s Debut Fiction Book of the Year, and longlisted for the Australian Book Industry Awards’ General Fiction Book of the Year. His second novel, The Deep, will be released in July 2021 and is a heart-stopping new thriller set on the rugged coast of Tasmania about modern-day pirates, family bonds and betrayals, and the hidden dangers that lurk in the deep...
