Adolescent Mental Health in a Global Pandemic
About The Event
In a recent survey by the Australian Government about COVID-19, 74% of young people reported that their mental health had worsened, 76% reported a negative impact on their work, study or financial situation and 50% reported it had had an impact on their confidence in achieving future goals.
This community forum is for anybody that would like to participate in a vibrant discussion of the real issues facing adolescents and their mental health in the current day. Whether you are an adolescent, a parent, carer or an interested member of the community, you are warmly invited to join.
Why Should You Attend?
We are excited to welcome you to this timely opportunity to reflect and plan for the challenges that the current world is presenting.
-
You will hear from a child and adolescent psychiatrist and psychologist who work every day with adolescents that suffer the full range of mental health problems. They have immense insight and experience into these problems and will share some great information.
-
You will also hear from a family therapist who will talk about the importance of including the whole family in providing support and therapy to adolescents.
-
After the presentations you’ll be able to ask questions and have them answered by our special guest speakers. It will be a dynamic and honest conversation aimed at getting to the core of the real issues.
