The Pirates of Penzance - Bundanoon 2022

On an idyllic beach in Cornwall, England, we meet Frederic: a young, strapping, handsome, not overly-intelligent pirate who's 21 today.

He was inadvertently apprenticed to a pirate at the age of 8 because his governess, Ruth, was hard of hearing. Now that he's come of age, Frederic’s apprenticeship is now completed - so where does he go from here?

Having been at sea for so long, our hero can’t remember what a young woman looks like. 

Suddenly, along comes a bevy of beautiful maidens out for a picnic and a paddle. Crisis for Fred! 

By chance, these girls’ foster-father is a Major-General who missed his vocation as a rapper but is now making up for lost time.

So what does he do to save the day?.....You won’t believe what comes next.

If you love confusion, contradiction, con trickery, constabulary, and consummate melodies, then The Pirates of Penzance will explain who put the ‘corn’ in ‘Cornwall’ - and send you out of the theatre on a consupercalifragilisticexpialidocious high!

Our performances at Bundanoon will be accompanied by a palm court orchestra.
