Take on Board online event with Rosslyn Noonan
Take on Board is the podcast where we talk all things Boards and governance.
Our guest speaker at this event is Rosslyn Noonan.
Hear and ask questions about Rosslyn’s concerns about an ‘increasingly emphatic insistence on a rigorous separation of governance and management’ she has noticed through her board roles and positions such as the former chief commissioner of the New Zealand Human Rights Commission (2001-2011).
At this event you’ll also get the chance to be part of this by asking questions.
You’ll also get to meet some of the Take on Board community not only from Australia, but across the world!
Let us know if you have any queries – otherwise, we look forward to seeing you there!
Our Speaker - Rosslyn Noonan Rosslyn is a New Zealand politician and trade unionist. She was an organiser for several trade unions and the Labour Party and served for a time in local government. Later she served as New Zealand's Human Rights Commissioner. Rosslyn has held senior management and governance positions in small and large trade unions, in local government, non-governmental organisations and in independent Government institutions. Examples include: Wellington City Councillor 1980-1986 Chair of the Housing & Urban Development Committee National Secretary, New Zealand Educational Institute, Te Riu Roa, 1988-1996, the third largest of the New Zealand professional and industrial unions Chief Commissioner, New Zealand Human Rights Commission, 2001-2011 Board member, Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson, Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand, 2013-2021. In these roles she has observed with some concern an increasingly emphatic insistence on a rigorous separation of governance and management. While recognising the challenges and complexities, she advocates for a less simplistic, more engaged approach, an actively complementary relationship. |
