Diary of a Music Student | Bathurst
About
Have you ever wondered what life is actually like as a music student studying at university? This hybrid 'classical' recital/theatre work explores the student experience of Ronan Apcar (piano) and Emma Warburton (flute). Anecdotes of their highs, lows and achievements at university will be interspersed with important musical works that have shaped their young careers to date, taking you on a reflective, sometimes turbulent but rewarding musical journey. This performance will feature a variety of 'bite-sized' works by Australian composers such as Miriam Hyde, Paul Stanhope, and Ronan Apcar, alongside flute favourite Ian Clarke and canonic composers like Prokofiev. With repertoire traversing the realms of jazz, minimalism, and Classical music from the 1940s to the present day, this is a program not to be missed!
